Fantastic. Now if we could gust have the maps zoomed in more (or zoomable so it can be changed on the fly) and increase the size of the preview window that would be awesome. As it is I can barely see anything on the map. Also, many of the map names get cut off in the preview window making it near impossible to read. For example, The Jade Quarry (Luxon) is actually split into 4 preview windows.
don't mean to be nit picking as I actually really like this program and will use it a lot.

Haven't tried it yet I'm at work now, and I don't think this will work on a mac. But when I was reading about this, the following came up to me (don't know if it's already a feature, since I haven't tried it yet):
Wouldn't it be nice if the mark's you make on a map can be shared with others. That way you can get a complete map very fast.

-The preview is ment to be a zoom option but I'll get working on adding some zoom features to it.

That's what you can do and I'm encouraging you to it . The map files you save can be given to anyone and opened in their program. Maybe some people could get together and produce a map as a group?
It won't work on a mac no, I didn't know that guild wars worked on a mac hence why I didn't code it to work on a Mac. If many people would like a Mac version I'll look into it all.

I didn't release the fix as a program update for various reasons. Redownload it from the main site and uninstall the previous version before installing the new one. It should replace all problems!
Thanks everyone for your comments I really appreciate it and can't wait to make this program the best it can be. However, there are a few things that cannot be done. The interface is already maximised to give you the biggest view of the map you can get, you can always hide the interface to view the map. I'll work on a fullscreen option too.

I understand that. I think part of the problem is, and correct me if I am wrong, that the preview window seems to be a static pixel width regaurdless of the resolution of the screen. So on my 17" laptop with a resolution of 1680x1050, the preview window is very small. If you are able to make that window user scaleable, it would make a world of difference and solve the zoom issue for the most part.
Here is a screen shot of mapmark at my resolution. As you can see, I have plenty of screen real estate to accomodate a larger preview window.

You seem to understand the program so I'll describe in technical terms my plans . The resolution of the basic map is the way it is to make sure it can load on all computers also the image buffer I use has issues with very large dimensions and this is hard coded and cannot be changed.
What I tried to do was add a zoom so that were the mouse was, it zoomed in, but this produced pixelated images as its zooming from the actual image. I wanted this approach to work as it means I would HUGELY downsize the file size as I wouldnt need two image resolutions. You can see the preview files have extension -2
BUT
I would like to thank you as you got me thinking about the method I'm using to draw the map and it turns out I can make the whole map zoomable which means I only need one high resolution image and downsize from there!.
I'll put your name in the program for your help

Just to let you know that I'm not dead....I've been very busy on the latest version which is a complete overhaul. I still need to reprogram the loading and saving routine but apart from that it's nearly done....stay stuned for an update within the next week.

Wow this looks REALLY great! I can't use it though! I tried downloading it, but I get error 1335 - Data1.cab is corrupt. I tried downloading it again, but I still get the same error. Also, the install says that its installing version 1.0? I've looked for an earlier release, but it seems that its not available anywhere else

No GW doesnt work on a mac (thank god for that, I would never get any work done), so any GW player will have a PC to their disposal. I'm only on a mac cause I work in the graphic industry and this is the best machine to that purpose. At home I have my Windows PC for gaming
Edit: I downloaded the program and I really like it, haven't been doing anything with it (making maps and whatnot) because I've been rather busy lately, but good work!

I'm going to hazard a guess and say that the file is only recongnized by the mapmarker program. This is probably in the wrong forum, BTW.

I dobut you will see a lot of support for a third party product on this forum.
For the record, anytime you need to change what program opens a file with a given extension, you can right click the file (or shift-right click if it is already associated with something) and select "open with".
Choose the program you want to open the file with (may have to browse for it) and if you want to make this extension always open with that program, check the box at the bottom.
Hope that helps.
